This Random Nun Clip is brought to you by A Nun's Life Ministry. We are on a Motherhouse Road Trip with the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We're delighted to be joined by Sister Carmen Hernandez.
Sister Carmen
Hello, everyone.
Sister Maxine
And Sister Annette Kestel.
Sister Annette
Hi. Happy to be here.
Sister Julie
Well, we had another question that had come in from the chat room. Amy says, "I don't think I'm very good at discernment. Primarily, I worry that I tend to overvalue my own desire and longings and hopes." And she says, "Do you have any advice for me?"
Sister Annette
Talk to some other people that know you well, and can have a sense of who you are. And also, you know, call you to more. I think that's a really been a great benefit of in the recent years of discernment within community -- how, we get together and help one another discern and sort things out. So to engage other trusted people in that process is huge.
Sister Carmen
I would say part of that, if I could add on if you don't mind, it's just the spiritual guide or spiritual mentor or spiritual direction. Sometimes I think it's good to have somebody who knows you really well. But it's also good to have somebody that doesn't know you, that is able to throw things out to you, a question and a thought that maybe you don't want to hear. But gives you some time to reflect back. And I think the other piece -- sometimes for me, I do really well at it. Sometimes I don't and for me, I think that's okay. Just spend some time journaling, because you can go back then and look at what you've written and look at, Oh, yeah, this really is all about what I'm wanting -- where's the prayer reflection in there, what God might want. It's all in handwriting then that you can actually see. So those would be two helps, I think.

And if you look at the top right corner of that page, well, and actually any page of the website, you'll see the Donate Now button.
Sister Julie
And every time someone clicks on that button, an angel gets its wings.
Sister Maxine
Well, we're not really sure of that, but we do know that this ministry relies on you, and we are deeply grateful for your encouragement and support. God bless.
